Our Video

Baggett, McCall, Burgess, Watson & Gaughan have specialized in personal injury litigation for more than fifty (50) years. We have developed a national reputation for handling cases for injured victims of all types of accidents. However, the members of the firm and their staff are equally proud of our participation in numerous community activities, charities, organizations and churches. In addition to benefiting our personal injury clients, we strive to benefit all of Southwest Louisiana.

Baggett, McCall, Burgess, Watson & Gaughan has, for a number of years, been a Partner in Education with two (2) schools in our area. We partner with Molo Middle School in Lake Charles, Louisiana, as well as Elton Elementary School in Elton, Louisiana. While the firm concentrates efforts in purchasing hard assets and programs for the children, we are most proud of our work in the area of teacher appreciation.

We at Baggett, McCall, Burgess, Watson & Gaughan are very active in many community projects, civic organizations and in various fund-raising activities that benefit Southwest Louisiana. We have been proud participants in United Way Campaigns, Big Brothers – Big Sisters, Calcasieu Area Campfire Council, as well as many other worthy community service-oriented organizations. Our firm has participated in many food, clothing and toy drives, concentrating efforts each year at Christmastime on Holiday Helping Hands which provides gifts and food for the needy in Southwest Louisiana.

Many of our partners and staff have served on local, state and international civic organizations, charitable organizations and church boards of directors. Examples of this service include the American Red Cross, The Lake Area Campfire Council, Southwest Louisiana Volunteer Council, United Way, Big Brothers – Big Sisters, Serra Club International, Dixie Youth Baseball, as well as the ETC (Education and Treatment Council). Members of the firm have served on the Board of Directors or as officers at First Christian Church and Henning United Methodist Church in Sulphur, Louisiana, St. Margaret’s Catholic Church in Lake Charles, and Holy Family Catholic Church in Moss Bluff.

In 2005, Baggett, McCall, Burgess, Watson & Gaughan published a checklist for individuals involved in an auto accident. Whether it’s a highway auto crash, 18-wheeler accident or just a fender-bender, the checklist is helpful in giving a person involved a how-to-do-it, step-by-step process to follow after the accident. Now, literally thousands of individuals have the checklist in their glove compartments, just in case they are in a vehicular accident of any kind.

Recently, the founding partner of the firm, William B. Baggett, launched a program that he calls the “Free Legal Check-up”. This program was created by Mr. Baggett to give back to the community for the many years of loyal trust and reliance that the community has given to him and the firm. The Legal Check-up focuses on reaching working people who may suffer from occupationally-induced illnesses or conditions such as mesothelioma, lung cancer, asbestosis, silicosis, chemically-related cancers (leukemia, lymphoma, Multiple Myeloma, Myelodysplasia and others), as well as industrial hearing loss. Free screening programs are in place for those who qualify.

Finally, Baggett, McCall, Burgess, Watson & Gaughan has been instrumental in representing individuals who have suffered cancer and other serious injuries related to toxic exposure. Because the firm has been so closely associated with individuals who have suffered various cancers and other blood disorders, the firm has felt compelled to participate in various functions such as walk-a-thons and other fund-raising events for the American Cancer Society. In fact, the staff of Baggett, McCall, Burgess, Watson & Gaughan has had, on occasion, full participation in fund- raising for various cancer awareness and cancer treatment drives.

We at Baggett, McCall, Burgess, Watson & Gaughan are proud of our community service. We are committed to continuing that work in the future.
