THE FIRM’S RESOURCES

Baggett, McCall, Burgess, Watson & Gaughan has all of the resources necessary to handle any personal injury case, regardless of size or complexity. Personal injury cases range from the proverbial fender-bender to huge multiparty lawsuits. The firm’s resources provide the ability to take on and manage any personal injury claim without the need for outside assistance.

INVESTIGATION

Steven D. Meche – (29 yrs. experience with the firm). Steve is an in-house investigator who began his career in handling bodily injury and property damage claims as a claims adjuster for one of the country’s most prominent claims adjusting firms. The firm was fortunate to hire Steve to investigate and adjust claims for injured victims in 1979.

Since that time, Steve has provided a resource, rare to firms representing people injured in auto accidents, 18-wheeler accidents, offshore and onshore rig accidents, as well as product liability claims. Steve has the experience to investigate and then, put together the evidence necessary to assist the lawyers at the firm in resolving many (if not most) of the firm’s claims without filing a lawsuit.

John W. Fryar, III – (8 yrs. experience with the firm). “Johnny” Fryar joined the staff in 2000. He came to Baggett, McCall, Burgess, Watson & Gaughan after retiring as Chief of Detectives at the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office. His 30 years in law enforcement (twenty-five as Head of Narcotics Division and Chief of Detectives) gives John a unique experience in providing outside investigation to compliment the firm’s ability to process claims through Steve. John maintains a separate office outside the firm, but is a very valuable resource to Baggett, McCall, Burgess, Watson & Gaughan to investigate any factual situation that may arise.

FINANCIAL

Many personal injury cases require a significant expenditure to properly manage and then, try a complex personal injury claim. The firm has undertaken cases which have required the investment of millions of dollars in expert-witnesses, court costs, medical expenses and any other expenses necessary in properly preparing a case for our personal injury clients.

Whether it is a toxic chemical spill against a major petrochemical company or a catastrophic loss due to a defective automobile manufactured by a major manufacturer, the financial resources necessary may be staggering. Regardless of the anticipated expense, Baggett, McCall, Burgess, Watson & Gaughan have the financial strength and resources to provide every client with an unlimited ability to provide the finances necessary to prosecute the claim.

EXPERIENCE

The firm has the experience in handling personal injury claims to give clients a unique resource, in the actual legal talent needed to successfully prosecute a complex personal injury claim. Whether the experience called for is in negotiation, arbitration and mediation or in preparing a case for trial; the legal resources at the firm are impressive. The lawyers at Baggett, McCall, Burgess, Watson & Gaughan have a combined tenure at handling personal injury cases of nearly 250 years.

Baggett, McCall, Burgess, Watson & Gaughan is the oldest and largest firm in Louisiana that exclusively handles personal injury cases. Bill Baggett, the founding partner, has pioneered many of the areas of personal injury law now practiced by Louisiana personal injury lawyers. He has established jurisprudence in the areas of maritime law, toxic exposure (asbestos, benzene, vinyl chloride and silica), as well as many other aspects of the law. In addition to Bill’s contributions, other lawyers have “made the law” or “set the standard” in areas of hearing loss, wrongful death and defective products litigation.

Regardless of the type of case, Baggett, McCall, Burgess, Watson & Gaughan has the experience as well as all of the other resources necessary to obtain the successful completion of your personal injury case.
